Teoscar Hernández delivered a standout performance with three hits and three RBIs, including a crucial go-ahead single in the eighth inning, propelling the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 3-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Monday night. This win marked the Dodgers’ fourth consecutive triumph.
Tyler Fitzgerald made history for the Giants, becoming the first player to homer in four straight games since Brandon Belt in 2018. Fitzgerald tied the game at 2-2 in the seventh inning by launching an elevated sinker from Ryan Yarbrough.
River Ryan, making his major league debut for the Dodgers, impressed by allowing just one unearned run over 5 1/3 innings. The 23-year-old right-hander, acquired from San Diego in a 2022 trade, conceded four hits while issuing three walks and striking out two.
Hernández’s clutch base hit up the middle in the eighth inning drove in Kiké Hernández, who had started the inning with a leadoff double against Erik Miller (3-3).
Blake Treinen (4-2) secured the win with a scoreless eighth inning, and Daniel Hudson earned his seventh save of the season.
Teoscar Hernández also showcased his power, homering for the second straight game by driving a low, inside slider from Giants starter Blake Snell into the left-field bleachers in the fourth inning. This marked his 21st home run of the season, ranking fifth in the National League. He further contributed with an RBI single in the sixth inning, giving the Dodgers a brief lead.
The Giants initially took the lead in the fourth inning when LaMonte Wade Jr. scored on a passed ball by Will Smith.
Blake Snell pitched six innings for the Giants, giving up two runs on four hits. The reigning NL Cy Young Award winner walked two batters and struck out four.
HONORING WILLIE
Before the game, the Dodgers paid tribute to the late Hall of Famer Willie Mays with a special video. This was the Giants’ first visit to Dodger Stadium since Mays passed away on June 18. His son, Michael, attended the tribute.
